The team at Floom show us how to chose your centrepiece for an extra special dining occasion.
A short guide on where to stay and what to do in Paris, one of my favourite city's. From the best vegetarian cafe to my favourite lake side restaurant, a short trip to Versailles or a tour around Notre Dame, there is always something magical to do in this heavenly city.
The other day I made a simple salad, plump room temperature tomatoes, with chilled spring onions, hot toasted pumpkin seeds and warm black rice. What made the salad so delicious was that each ingredient was at it's perfect temperature. When I mentioned it to our team it prompted a long debate about what exactly is the optimum temperature for our food.
To celebrate the launch of our Mama package, in collaboration with Nutritional Therapist Amelia Freer, we will be inviting our favourite super mamas to trial the package, and answer some questions on how to balance business with babies! Blitzed and blended, bright and beautiful smoothie bowls bursting with flavours as bold as their colour. We are introducing smoothie bowls at our delis, of which there are four different flavours. The Coconut Dragon is the most fuchsia bowl you've ever seen. And it really does taste as good as it looks! Other flavours include Berry Oat, Avocado Spirulina and Acai Berry. These will be available to enjoy all day long.
It’s easy to fall off the bandwagon while on holiday, what with airport meals, piña coladas and not a single home cooked meal. Not to mention our motivation levels seeming to peak at swanning around on inflatable swans. And this down time is COMPLETELY FINE. A few days of indulgence is not going to do any lasting damage, so long as we make sure to regain the balance post-holiday. Here’s how.
While the British summertime has graced us with plenty of opportunity to talk about our favourite subject recently (i.e. the weather, i.e. “Isn’t it supposed to be summer? It’s been raining for two WHOLE weeks now!”), there has also been a whole lot of talk about hangovers. In particular, those ensuing a Pimms-fuelled staff summer party.
Being very much embedded in the world of healthy eating we see every angle of how social is impacting peoples food choices, but also how it is shaping the way we look at our diet and how it makes us feel. Having a healthy relationship with food is so important, so we've devised a few practical tips for disconnecting from social when it comes to food.
Food waste is a subject we care passionately about as a business, so we are thrilled to now be stocking Dash water. “British sparkling water infused with wonky fruit and veg” is the strapline. Crafted in the UK by Alex and Jack, we love that they are fighting food waste in a fun, and sustainable way. The lemon flavour is definitely my favourite.
So this is me on a good day. And I tend to try and have a few more good days in the lead up to a holiday, because let’s face it, everyone wants to look and feel good on holiday.
We've teamed up with Grazia for a series of morning events to celebrate their Unplugged Issue. Grazia’s Unplugged issue is asking their readers to get switched on to logging off and disconnect to reconnect – trying to break the habit of absent-mindedly checking, flicking and swiping, by consciously taking time off from our digital world and social media to reclaim real life.
Collectively we need to work to reduce our food waste, as businesses and individuals. With household food wastage accounting for 53% of total food waste, there is a lot we can do as individuals to make a change. Here are our top tips for minimising wastage.
Our Founder Lily is a Vegetarian. I'm a Flexitarian. I’ve watched Cowspiracy and Leonardo Di Caprio’s documentary, I have read, and heard, the countless facts and figures in favour of a vegetarian lifestyle. But when push comes to shove, I won’t be giving up meat. And here’s why.
I watched Carnage. The person that told me to watch it said, be prepared, if you watch it you WILL turn veggie. I watched it. I am now a vegetarian. I have been for two months and I can’t see it changing. My older brother and mum watched it too, they are both now vegetarians. Needless to say, the humorous documentary by Simon Amstell resonated with me, and many others it would seem.
